It’s obvious that I’ll never be able to try a love potion or WD40 since one is imaginary and the other will have me hospitalized. So, this week’s drinks are out of my tongues reach… yet I’m sure I’d love the taste of them both!
Another thing people often find out of reach though… besides the top shelf… is love~ 😍. It’s truly devastating the relationship climate right now. As people struggle to find love, or those in relationships cheat because they are bored. Which is not cool!
Infidelity has always been such an interesting topic to me, I always wondered why people chose to betray their partners instead of just leaving the relationship for anew.
Think about it like this, animals in the wild will usually try to find a mate who is strong, as to create children with a high likelihood of survival. A decent percent of the human population does worry about survival, since food isn’t scarce for all, and we aren’t being hunted… usually.
(The man I aspire to be)
Without these factors, it allows us to focus on the psychological connections to these “mates” we find. Yet, by having relationships driven by the mentality, it only creates more factors.
As we focus more on our psych in relationships, we are seeing the slow death of monogamous love. I’m not referencing polygamy here; I’m speaking on the selfish indulgence in infidelity that plagues the modern marriage.

When we enter relationships, there is a subconscious contract of loyalty that we submit ourselves to. So to fall for another… would truly be love just out of one’s reach.

This was a pretty insightful post about the modern age and highlights the hopelessness of some people’s situations (you could also tie that back to Gatsby). Also, could you calm down on the WD40 thing? You’ve been scaring me since 9th grade with this desire for a harmful chemical…

Love is really something that has been a struggle for many to find or achieve, but with it comes the cost of possibly being cheated on, although that is something that should never happen, your question as to why people do it is also something that I am curious about. This also ties into the great gatsby and when Gatsby left for the war, Daisy left and found Tom, who is rich, strong, etc.
ReplyDeleteHey Toro, this post is so incredibly unhinged, but such a multifaceted metaphor for love. Revealing how the modern world is plagued with infidelity is a topic that is widely addressed today, and often seen in everyday life, not only high-class people. Along with this, the drive of mentality almost plaguing what love should be is almost like saying we need WD-40 in our lives to smooth out the bumps and traditions that need to be lost. Kind of funny how George Wilson was a mechanic, he low key needed some WD-40 for his wife, she was every creaking door and cupboard combined...
